The Springville community is mourning the tragic loss of 38-year-old Chance Mitchell Lawrence Taylor, who died following a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in St. Clair County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Highway Patrol Division, the crash occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m. on St. Clair County 32 near Clayton Road, roughly five miles west of Springville. Authorities said Taylor was driving a 2001 Chevrolet S10 when, for reasons still under investigation, the pickup truck left the roadway and struck a tree.
Senior Trooper Gregory Corble stated that Taylor sustained serious injuries in the collision. Emergency responders transported him to UAB St. Vincent’s East Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Officials confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Investigators remained at the scene for several hours documenting evidence and examining roadway conditions as they worked to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the highway.
