Authorities in East St. Louis are continuing to investigate a deadly overnight shooting that claimed the life of 41-year-old Terence Lashae.
According to police, officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of North 26th Street and discovered Lashae suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders rendered aid at the scene before transporting him for additional medical treatment, but he later died from his injuries.
Investigators confirmed that two suspects are currently in custody in connection with the homicide investigation, though their identities have not yet been publicly released. Authorities have also not disclosed what may have led to the shooting or whether the individuals involved knew one another.
Detectives continue processing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident as the investigation remains active.
